WORKING TOGETHER TO AVERT A CLIMATE CHANGE CATASTROPHE

Humanity should have acted upon a changing climate decades ago. Unfortunately, what should have been undertaken never came close to actually being done. Here we are in 2020 and humanity is at a point in time where we still can avert a crisis. No longer can we sit back and wait for more information or for someone else to rescue us. Human beings around the planet need to work together for a better future in a united way like we never have done before.

Right now the solutions to a changing climate are out there and what we have to do is find ways to implement them as quickly as we can. Successfully averting the biggest threat to human life since our ancestors first walked on this earth is our present day imperative.

Thinking and acting in the same manner as we have done will not get us to where we have to go. There are many technological breakthroughs that have occurred in the past few years that will have a tremendously positive effect in preventing an all out climate catastrophe. The major roadblock that human beings have to an all out assault on this threat is that we like to do things in a similar fashion that we are used to and feel comfortable with. Overcoming climate change in a scant few years has to be the exception to doing what is necessary in our normal manner.

People are looking to local, regional and national governments to put their economic where-with-all force behind solving this problem. People are also looking to large corporations to adopt a clean energy aspect to their business practices. Both of these types of efforts are necessary and essential but putting in place real life solutions within the next couple of years also calls for human beings around the planet to do much more.

Back in the early nineteen eighties when it became apparent that the climate was changing there was not a big push to alter our behaviors because of a changing climate. Today we know that individual human beings have to be at the center of cooperative behaviors by reducing the carbon dioxide emitted into the atmosphere as well as removing existing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. Everyday lost puts us further behind in what we have to do. Human beings everywhere cannot take a wait and see approach by letting governments, corporations and other individuals do most of the work because that makes other people fully responsible for how this all plays out.

The outlook for success will be greatly improved if we had 1 Billion (yes, Billion with a B) human beings around the planet volunteering 4 to 8 hours a month in helping to implement the technological inventions that have been recently discovered. Each month we would then have 4 to 8 billion human hours in a full out effort around the planet devoted to solving this problem. Over a year’s time that would be 48 to 96 Billion human hours engaged in this urgent situation. Since we have to do something profound within the next five years that also would mean that by 2025 there would be 240 to 480 Billion total human hours fully involved in removing carbon dioxide that is presently in the atmosphere and also helping to put in place newly discovered products that are environmentally friendly.

The volunteer workforce that is needed will come from every generation. One of the largest age groups where these volunteers can come from is our youth. There are 1.8 billion young people around the world between the ages of 10 to 25 and getting them to spend one day a month in service to the earth will be world changing. In fact our youth can make this a monthly family outing where a young person encourages his or her siblings, parents and grandparents to take part.

TIME GOES BY NO MATTER WHAT ANY OF US DO. TO CHANGE THE COURSE THE EARTH’S CLIMATE IS PRESENTLY ON WE ABSOLUTELY NEED ONE BILLION HUMAN BEINGS TO SPEND SOME OF THEIR TIME FIXING WHAT IS NOW BROKEN, AN EARTH THAT IS NOT FUNCTIONING OPTIMALLY FOR LIFE ON THIS PLANET.

We also need to think about the individuals and companies that invent these earth saving products. Doing what is normally done after successfully coming up with a new invention takes time to bring to the public. They start smaller and build up their production over time. Today we do not have the luxury of doing this when it comes to climate change.

Every individual and company has to think about the bigger picture just like Jonas Salk did when he never got a patent on his polio vaccine. Today’s climate change crisis requires the same benevolence of allowing people and companies to freely access their climate change altering technology for free or for a small licensing fee. Instead of one plant producing a new product and getting it into communities around the planet we could have in the same amount of time hundreds or thousands of plants in operation and a distribution network for it by the end of 2023 or even sooner.

While our website, onecommonpurpose.com, and our youtube channel, WE WILL CREATE IT™️, is devoted to all aspects of life, we will give a lot of attention to climate change. By presenting various new technologies that will have a world changing positive impact upon the earth’s climate and encouraging everyone, but especially the youth of the world, to become part of the one billion volunteers, we will show what is possible.

A BETTER LIFE AND BETTER WORLD WILL NOT AUTOMATICALLY HAPPEN, WE HAVE TO CREATE IT.

WE WILL CREATE IT™️

We Will Create It

The mission of One Common Purpose and its Youtube channel is to promote people working together for a better future for everyone.
