SUMMATION
JOURNEY INTO A BETTER FUTURE
PART 1 – HARMONY
DAY 1 – A COMMON BASIC DESIRE
I now realize that I am no different than any other human being in my desire to have a better life and to live in a better world.
DAY 2 – OUR ATTEMPTS TO MAKE LIFE BETTER
I now realize that the creativity and innovations of those who preceded me and my generation are because of the desire for something better.
DAY 3 – THE MODERN WORLD (THOSE WHO DO BENEFIT)
I now realize that I have been fortunate to do and have the things that a modern world provides.
DAY 4 – THE OTHER SIDE OF A MODERN WORLD (THOSE WHO DO NOT BENEFIT)
I now realize that there are people all over the world who cannot do or have the things that others can have or do.
DAY 5 – A PARENT’S HOPE
I now realize that a parent’s love for their children is universal and never diminishes even when their children reach their senior years.
DAY 6 – A FUTURE NO ONE WANTS
I now realize that too many children will grow up to have some aspect of their future not turn out as they would want it to.
DAY 7 – WHY
I now realize that everyone at various times in their lives have situations that develop that are problematic even though no one wants to have those difficulties.
DAY 8 – PEOPLE REALLY TURN OUT OK(MOST OF THE TIME)
I now realize that people in most situations really turn out okay.
DAY 9 – ONE PERCENT OFF (MAKING LIFE HARDER THAN IT NEEDS TO BE)
I now realize that most of the time people live their life in ways that contribute to making life better for themselves and others but there are certain instances where they make life more problematic for themselves and more problematic for their fellow human beings. The life and world that each of us desire has more of a possibility of occurring if human beings could always act in a manner conducive to creating a personally better life and a collectively better world.
DAY 10 – A SEARCH FOR INSIGHTS AND UNDERSTANDING
I now realize that it is essential to delve deeper into all aspects of life so I can have a more in-depth understanding about human behavior. I will then be more effective in creating a better life for myself and more effective in helping my fellow human beings to create a better world for everyone.
DAY 11 – THE BIG THREE
I now realize that the human world begins with the three major components of oneself, other human beings and everything planet earth provides. This is the starting point for all that follows.
DAY 12 – WE ARE ALL PART OF THE BIGGER WHOLE
I now realize that all of us are intertwined with each other and our earth in immeasurable ways. People need one another to have the life that we live. Humanity has so much more because we do not have to go it alone. All of us are part of the bigger whole.
DAY 13 – LOOKING AT LIFE HOLISTICALLY
I now realize that without a holistic understanding about life I will leave important components and factors out of my analysis. The more information I have the better my decisions become on how to make my life better and to make this a better world for everyone.
DAY 14 – THE JIGSAW PUZZLE
I now realize that I need to figure out how the pieces of life come together in order to have a better life and live in a better world.
DAY 15 – INSIDE THE SHELL
I now realize that there is so much more to life than what appears on the surface. By delving deeper I will be able to understand our world in a more holistic manner.
DAY 16 – A HOLISTIC HARMONY
I now realize that the more harmony that exists in the world the better everyone’s life becomes.
DAY 17 – INNER HARMONY
I now realize that myself and every other human being lives our lives from within. Taking care of my physical health and psychological and emotional well-being to the best of my ability will give me the best chance of achieving the beneficial and pleasing state of inner harmony.
PART 2 – BASIC REQUIREMENTS FOR A BETTER LIFE AND BETTER WORLD
DAY 18 – BASIC REQUIREMENTS FOR A BETTER LIFE AND BETTER WORLD
I now realize that the life and world that human beings desire is directly related to each and every human being achieving all of these nine basic requirements.
DAY 19 – BASIC REQUIREMENT: SURVIVAL NEEDS
I now realize that the ability to have nutritious food to eat, clean water to drink, a comfortable home to live in and clothing to wear is an essential requirement for a better life.
DAY 20 – BASIC REQUIREMENT: HARMONIOUS INTERACTIONS AND RELATIONSHIPS
I now realize that I need to show everyone kindness, consideration and respect. Having harmonious interactions and relationships with my fellow human beings is an essential component for a better life and better world.
DAY 21 – BASIC REQUIREMENT: HARMONY BETWEEN GROUPS
I now realize that treating people labeled as the “other” group as well as you treat members of your “own” group brings about peaceful relations and cooperative behaviors that have a holistic benefit for all of mankind. After all, aren’t we just part of one all encompassing “own” group called the human race.
DAY 22 – BASIC REQUIREMENT: EDUCATION AND KNOWLEDGE
I now realize that my formal education has helped me to become a productive member of society. I am also a better human being today because of the deeper insights into life that have been shared with me by other people and the life enhancing concepts that I have sought out.
DAY 23 – BASIC REQUIREMENT: PHYSICAL HEALTH AND PSYCHOLOGICAL WELLNESS
I now realize that I have to create the underpinnings for both physical and psychological wellness. If I do not make this an important part of how I go about living my life eventually there is a price to pay for disregarding this key component of a better life.
DAY 24 – BASIC REQUIREMENT: PERSONAL WANTS
I now realize that what I have gravitated towards during the course of my life has been personally rewarding and has enhanced my life.
DAY 25 – BASIC REQUIREMENT: TRANSPORTATION
I now realize that life has been greatly transformed because of access to advanced forms of transportation. Being able to go places and receive diverse products is a key component of a better life.
DAY 26 – BASIC REQUIREMENT: ENERGY SUPPLY
I now realize that an energy supply is a necessity for humanity. Those of us who live in a modern world could not have or do the things that make our lives easier, better and enjoyable without it. Those who are the poorest of the poor that live without or have limited resources of energy are short changed in what is possible for them.
DAY 27 – BASIC REQUIREMENT: CLEAN AND SUSTAINABLE ENVIRONMENT
I now realize that by ensuring that the earth is clean and sustainable we can lay a foundation for a healthy and viable earth in which to live for not only those of us who are alive today but also future generations.
PART 3 – KEY ASPECTS OF BEING HUMAN
DAY 28 – KEY ASPECTS OF BEING HUMAN (THAT AFFECTS OUR ABILITY TO MEET THE BASIC REQUIREMENTS)
I now realize that I need to have a greater understanding about what affects my ability to have a better life. The more I know the more effective I will become in making my life better, contributing to other people having better lives and contributing to a clean and sustainable earth.
DAY 29 – KEY ASPECT: HUMAN EVOLUTION
I now realize that I will make a concerted effort to evolve over the coming years into a better human being. Generations after generations have been striving to make this a better world and those of us who are alive today have a responsibility to be part of humanity’s continual evolutionary march forward.
DAY 30 – KEY ASPECT: THOUGHTS AND THE POWER OF WORDS
I now realize that my personal thoughts have a powerful influence over how I live my life and the collective thoughts of humanity have a powerful effect over what occurs in the world at large.
DAY 31 – KEY ASPECT: GETTING LOST IN THOSE SILENT WORDS
I now realize that too often the words I say silently to myself seem so real that I get lost in them to the detriment of my ability to objectively consider other contrary ideas. The beneficial actions that I take along with the actions detrimental to a better life and better world occur because of years of constantly saying certain words silently to myself.
DAY 32 – KEY ASPECT: ACCURATE AND FACTUAL THOUGHTS
I now realize that just because I have a thought does not mean that those silent words I say to myself are accurate, factual and beneficial to myself, my fellow human beings and to the earth. Without a factual foundation upon which we conduct personal and societal affairs our ability to find the best path forward will be left wanting.
DAY 33 – KEY ASPECT: LEAVING IMPORTANT FACTS OUT THE EQUATION
I now realize that no human being can fully understand all of the underlying aspects of what occurs in life. Because of this I may leave important components out when making assessments about another human being, a particular group, an event or a specific situation. I have to learn as much as I can before coming to a perspective that may affect myself, my fellow human beings and planet earth.
DAY 34 – KEY ASPECT: ANTI-THOUGHTS
I now realize that excessive negative thoughts that go beyond a simple disagreement about an ideology, an individual person or a specific group represents anti-thoughts about the subject of such thoughts. With this type of thinking people labeled as the “other” can become so despised that they are then considered the “enemy” even if it is not on the field of battle.
DAY 35 – KEY ASPECT: THE VERB TO BE
I now realize that the words I am/you are and we are/they are have a powerful influence over my beliefs about myself and my fellow human beings. Too often the verb to be creates problems by categorizing and separating human beings into people belonging to one’s “own” group and those who belong to the “other” group. The only I am and we are that unites the world is human.
DAY 36 – KEY ASPECT: BECOMING AFFECTED
I now realize that past experiences have a profound effect on everyone’s life. This manifests itself in our ability to have a better life with fewer difficulties or a life that is more problematic.
DAY 37 – KEY ASPECT: THOUGHTS VERSUS FEELINGS
I now realize that it is important to understand the difference between feelings and thoughts and the impact each word has. Being consciously aware that there is a distinction between using the word feel when I mean think can help me to become more analytical and better able to analyze my thoughts for their accuracy.
DAY 38 – KEY ASPECT: ONE’S FAMILY
I now realize that family dynamics is of such extreme importance that it has a bearing on whether each member has an optimistic outlook on life or becomes disheartened. The family home needs to be a place where every person can believe they are safe, secure and know that he or she is loved, respected and valued.
DAY 39 – KEY ASPECT: THE HUMAN FAMILY
I now realize that when we change our thinking about our fellow human beings from a specific group perspective to a human family perspective it makes everyone equally important and valuable. We thus make it more likely that human beings around the planet will become united in a collective effort to create a better world for all of humanity.
DAY 40 – KEY ASPECT: SELF-FOCUSED VERSUS ALTRUISM
I now realize that human beings may often focus upon one ‘s own interests but we also have the capability to consider the interests of others as well. There is a significant difference between living our lives based on the I of my life versus the we of the human family. The more we incorporate the welfare of others and our planet into our thoughts and actions the better the world becomes for everyone.
DAY 41 – KEY ASPECT: INTOLERANCE VERSUS TOLERANCE
I now realize that intolerance for differences in both what we believe and how we look is the barrier that keeps us separate and apart. The more acceptance we have for those who are not like oneself, the more we will remove the barriers that keep us apart and find that on the other side of that wall is a more cooperative and beneficial world for everyone.
DAY 42 – KEY ASPECT: EXCLUSION VERSUS INCLUSION
I now realize that people who are excluded by others, no matter what the reason, is a form of non-acceptance. They do not welcome them into their lives with open arms. Inclusion of all of our fellow human beings into the human family is the path that humanity has to take if we are to become a more unified world.
DAY 43 – KEY ASPECT: EQUALITY AND FAIRNESS
I now realize that when problems exist there is a minus sign attached to that situation since it prevents someone or some group of human beings from meeting the basic requirements for a better life. All of us need to work towards changing minus signs into plus signs in their personal and societal equation. A journey into an equally better future with more fairness requires plus and equal signs everywhere.
DAY 44 – KEY ASPECT: THE HUMAN PSYCHOLOGICAL BOX
I now realize that one of the most difficult things any of us can do is break free from one’s own psychological box that each person puts themselves into. Allowing ourselves to venture away from what we have become accustomed to opens up a world of creative possibilities that can successfully address personal as well as our collective societal issues.
DAY 45 – KEY ASPECT: AN OPEN MIND (OBJECTIVITY)
I now realize that when I am presented with a new idea or way of living life I need to approach it with an openness that allows me to become objective to its potential for being more beneficial for myself, my fellow human beings and planet earth than my present beliefs and actions. Anything less keeps me stuck where I am and not moving forward as best as I can.
DAY 46 – KEY ASPECT: SEEING LIFE REALISTICALLY
I now realize that realistic thinking and realistic approaches will give us the ability to make this the last century for most human problems.
DAY 47 – KEY ASPECT: LIFE NOT TURNING OUT AS YOU WANT IT TO
I now realize that when I become disappointed, frustrated, angry, anxious or fearful it is because of my thoughts that something in life has not turned out as I wanted it to in the past or may not turn out as I wish it to in the future. Becoming emotionally upset does not change what has already happened and does nothing to alter the future. The inability of human beings to live in peace and harmony with one another has its roots in becoming upset when something in life does not turn out as you want it to.
DAY 48 – KEY ASPECT: FINDING APPRECIATION
I now realize that when I get annoyed at someone for not acting in a certain manner it is because at that moment I have put aside their better qualities. When I have become disheartened at something I have done it also is because I put aside my better qualities that I try to live my life by. Appreciating the best in myself and others is important for letting go of annoyance and is essential for personal enjoyment and happiness.
DAY 49 – KEY ASPECT: LOVING FEELINGS VERSUS LOVING ACTIONS
I now realize that there is a significant difference between feelings and actions. The people I care about, love and want to spend more time with than other people deserve to be shown kindness, consideration and respect. In fact, every human being I encounter also deserves to be treated as well as I treat those whom I love.
DAY 50 – KEY ASPECT: EVERYONE MATTERS
I now realize that all of us become part of the human family when we consider everyone just as important as we do the people we love and care about. Valuing every human being for just being human creates the underpinnings for a better world.
DAY 51 – KEY ASPECT: A BETTER LIFE PHILOSOPHY
I now realize that most of the time I have been living my life wanting and striving for a better life for myself, others and planet earth. I can also see that most of my fellow human beings have many aspects of a “better life philosophy” at the heart of their belief systems even if we do not call it by this name.
DAY 52 – KEY ASPECT: IMMATURITY VERSUS MATURITY
I now realize that growing up is not the same as growing into a mature person. Maturity has a direct correlation to being in tune with one’s thoughts and actions that contribute to making life better for oneself, others and the earth. The difference between immaturity and maturity is the difference between living one’s life in darkness and not seeing the entire picture or living one’s life in the brightest of lights and understanding the beautiful mosaic.
DAY 53 – KEY ASPECT: LISTENING AND SEEING IS NOT HEARING AND UNDERSTANDING
I now realize that much of the disrespect and discord we have in this world is related to an inability to hear and understand what lies beneath the surface of our fellow human beings. Finding the maturity to hear and understand instead of just listening and seeing changes the discussions from solely advocating for one’s ideology and behavior into a search for the best way forward.
DAY 54 – KEY ASPECT: ACTING MATURE IN THE FACE OF IMMATURITY: WHEN THE OTHER PERSON ACTS IN A MANNER DETRIMENTAL TO A BETTER LIFE AND BETTER WORLD
Thinking about my friend and her boyfriend I realize that everyone needs to transcend the immature actions of others by having a mature response. Maturity leads to harmonious interactions and relationships and helping someone to get back into that mode of thinking and behaving changes the dynamics of the situation.
DAY 55 – KEY ASPECT: ACTING MATURE IN THE FACE OF IMMATURITY: WHEN SOCIETAL ACTIONS ARE DETRIMENTAL TO A BETTER LIFE AND BETTER WORLD
I now realize that getting caught up in the immaturity that pervades groups of people is contrary to my desire to live in a better world. I know that joining groups that hold anti-thoughts and hate people who are different than oneself does not make sense. I know that rationalizing poor behavior just because it comes from people who are like oneself does not make sense. My ability to act mature in the face of a large segment of society thinking and acting in a self- centered manner requires a steadfast ideology that incorporates the welfare of all of humanity.
DAY 56 – KEY ASPECT: THE SHORTSIGHTED VIEW OF THINKING SHORTSIGHTED: SHORT TERM VERSUS LONG TERM THINKING
I now realize that quite often my thoughts and actions are based upon my perceptions and preoccupation of how I will benefit in the short term without taking into consideration the longer term consequences. It is possible and essential to think about and act in ways that are beneficial now while simultaneously doing it in a manner that also incorporates a better tomorrow. It is imperative that we leave future generations a better world.
DAY 57 – KEY ASPECT: FREEDOM VERSUS RESPONSIBLE FREEDOM
I now realize that there is a significant difference between living life with the freedom to think and act as I wish to do versus living life with a higher responsibility than just to myself and the people I love. When we work together for a better future for all of humanity we are living life in a very responsible manner.
DAY 58 – KEY ASPECT: HABITS
I now realize that there are all kinds of habits that human beings have. I understand that there are certain thought and behavior habits that are detrimental to a better life and a better world while other thought and behavior habits help to create a better life and better world. I am the only person that can decide which habits will be a part of my life.
DAY 59 – KEY ASPECT: THE HUMAN SPIRIT
I now realize that there is something that lies within each and every human being that makes every person unique and who they are. From what a person gravitates towards and who they want to spend their time with, a person’s individual spirit is at work. When we show kindness, consideration and respect to others and when we care about the welfare of and come to the aid of our fellow human beings this is when we project the best of the human spirit onto the world.
DAY 60 – KEY ASPECT: TECHNOLOGY CHANGES THE WORLD
I now realize that transformative technological advancements continually make life easier and better for people around the planet. Unfortunately, not every human being is able to take advantage of those breakthroughs. Humanity today can change that. Human beings today can take the insights and knowledge that will create a better world and use it in ways like no other generation ever did.
DAY 61 – KEY ASPECT: CONSTANTLY ADJUSTING TO LIFE
I now realize that life cannot adjust itself to how I think and act but I have to adjust myself to what is occurring in the world. Becoming upset and distraught with something that is not my norm or the norm of society does not serve my best interests or society’s interests. I will find more calmness, peacefulness and inner harmony along with an ability to adequately deal with what comes my way when I can psychologically adjust myself to the new and different.
DAY 62 – KEY ASPECT: THE RIPPLE EFFECT: RAMIFICATIONS FOR HOW WE THINK, FEEL AND ACT
I now realize that every human being is creating ripples in the world based upon how they think and act. To create a better world each of us has to be cognizant of the words we say to others and the actions we take and how they ripple their way into the lives of our fellow human beings.
DAY 63 – KEY ASPECT: WISDOM WITH THE PASSAGE OF TIME: IF ONLY I HAD KNOWN THEN WHAT I KNOW NOW
I now realize that there were times when I should not have acted as I did when I was younger. The insights into what makes my life better was wanting then but as I have become older I have a better understanding of what constitutes a better life and how it can be created. “If only I had known then what I know now” I would have said different silent words to myself and thus acted in a manner that did not make my life more difficult and did not cause other people to have problems.
PART 4 – PERSONAL EXPERIENCES
DAY 64 – PERSONAL EXPERIENCES
I now realize that when I interact with someone I can have an impact upon the psychological and emotional well-being of that person. I need to look at what I say and do because that can affect what people go through in their daily lives. My words and actions are at the center of whether I lift others up to greater heights or lower them down into an internal disharmony.
DAY 65 – IMAGINE WHAT IT MUST BE LIKE TO BE A CHILD WHO
I now realize that childhood is the most important period in a person’s life. It needs to be a time where each of us grows into a self-confident and mature human being. What we experienced while growing up plants a garden inside of us that can last a lifetime. The question then becomes whether there are beautiful plants that are growing and flourishing within that enhance life or are weeds being strewn about that need to be removed because they have contaminated the psychological and emotional wellness of a child.
DAY 66 – IMAGINE WHAT IT MUST BE LIKE TO BE A PARENT WHO
I now realize that in certain situations some children do not comprehend what a parent goes through. They do not understand the psychological and emotional distress that lies within a parent who has to deal with their children’s difficulties. The ability of a parent to have inner harmony is related to what occurs in their children’s lives.
DAY 67 – IMAGINE WHAT IT MUST BE LIKE TO BE DATING, COHABITATING WITH OR MARRIED TO A PERSON WHO
I now realize that the words and actions each of us shows towards the person we are emotionally involved with has a huge effect on how the other person thinks and feels. Without kind words and thoughtful actions people become disappointed and unhappy and no one wants to be in a relationship where they are not thriving, happy and have a sense of fulfillment.
DAY 68 – IMAGINE WHAT IT MUST BE LIKE TO BE A PERSON WHO CONTRIBUTES TO HIS OR HER PHYSICAL HEALTH AND PSYCHOLOGICAL WELLNESS
I now realize that life can be much harder for myself and the people who love me if I do not create the underpinnings for better physical health and psychological wellness. My body and my mind are in my control and by acting with more in-depth insights I can bring about an inner harmony that serves me well.
DAY 69 – IMAGINE WHAT IT MUST BE LIKE TO BE A PERSON WHO CONTRIBUTES TO HIS OR HER EDUCATION AND KNOWLEDGE BY
I now realize that to fully see and understand life better we need to take off our sunglasses that blocks out the knowledge that can make each of our lives better and a world with fewer societal difficulties.
DAY 70 – IMAGINE WHAT IT MUST BE LIKE TO BE A MEMBER OF A NATIONALITY, RELIGION, RACE OR ETHNICITY WHO
I now realize that there are far more people on this earth who are not biassed, who treat everyone with the best of intentions and who believe that everyone should have the same rights and privileges as everyone else which then frees up humanity to live in harmony with one another.
DAY 71 – IMAGINE WHAT IT MUST BE LIKE TO BE LIVING ON AN EARTH THAT
I now realize that the earth is interconnected in a holistic way with everything that goes on within it. Too many hardships occur when human beings disregard how they affect the processes that are at work on this earth. Humanity is the most powerful species on this planet and can be a disruptive force in how the earth functions in both the short and long term. We not only have to, but we absolutely must, carry out our affairs in a manner that contributes to a cleaner and healthier earth.
DAY 72 – IMAGINE WHAT IT MUST BE LIKE TO BE A PERSON WHO
I now realize that by having people in my life that I love and things I enjoy doing I have meaning to my life that helps me to stay grounded and act in life enhancing ways.
DAY 73 – DISRUPTIVE NATURE OF LIFE: HUMAN DIFFICULTIES
I now realize that human difficulties are a disruptive aspect to a harmonious life and world. I can no longer act in the absence of understanding the bigger picture. I can no longer ignore problems because they will not go away on their own.
DAY 74 – UNITING AROUND HUMANITY’S ONE COMMON ENEMY: PROBLEMS
I now realize that having disdain for the person who creates a problem does nothing to eliminate human problems. By focusing my attention upon eliminating problems I can be more effective in having fewer personal difficulties and be of greater assistance to someone in their time of need.
DAY 75 – TWO ASPECTS OF NOT HAVING DIFFICULTIES
I now realize that our ability to have a better life and live in a better world requires every human being to become cognizant of how to prevent problems from developing in both one’s personal life and the world at large and when something does become problematic we need to immediately take the necessary actions so it doesn’t become an ongoing struggle that constantly requires our time, attention and energy.
PART 5 – ONE COMMON PURPOSE: WORKING TOGETHER FOR A BETTER FUTURE
DAY 76 – ONE COMMON PURPOSE: WORKING TOGETHER FOR A BETTER FUTURE
I now realize that life requires a solid foundation upon which we can build a better future for ourselves, the people we love and our fellow human beings. Believing that all of humanity has one common purpose of working together for a better future gives us the starting point for that better future.
DAY 77 – COMMUNITY BETTERMENT PROJECT
I now realize that a “Community Betterment Project” will give the young a sound and solid foundation upon which they can live their lives. I also realize that a project that strives to help all of its members to have fewer problems will unite people in their community and as time goes on and other communities engage in a similar project it can eventually unite the world.
DAY 78 – A BETTER LIFE AND BETTER WORLD WILL NOT AUTOMATICALLY HAPPEN, WE HAVE TO CREATE IT
I now realize that every single invention, every single good deed and every single human desire has never been as simple as thinking about it and somehow it then magically appears. A better life for myself, my loved ones and every other human being will not automatically happen, we have to create it.
DAY 79 – THE ROLES YOU HAVE TO PLAY IN LIFE
I now realize that I have a responsibility to myself to create a better life for myself. I now realize that my role within my family can be a force to uplift one another in ways that other interactions and relationships do not do. I now realize that being a good neighbor not only means people contribute some of their time to helping those who live near them but it also has the added benefit of creating a bond between human beings that brings people and entire communities closer together. I now realize that every human being has a responsibility to keep
the earth as clean and sustainable as he or she can.
DAY 80 – A FRESH AND NEW BEGINNING: TOMORROW DOES NOT HAVE TO BE LIKE YESTERDAY
I now realize that every positive change that I incorporated into my life required a new and fresh beginning from what I was experiencing. My life today is so much better because I could envision a time where my tomorrows would be better than the problematic yesterdays.
DAY 81 – A MINDSET FOR A BETTER FUTURE
I now realize that I will no longer just sit on the sidelines and let whatever occurs to be my mindset. From now on I will be an active participant in creating a better life for myself and actively engaged in creating a better world wherever I can.
DAY 82 – RAISING CONSCIOUSNESS AND A GESTATION PERIOD FOR IT
I now realize that to raise consciousness to a level where human beings do not have the problems that exist today we need a gestation period where people can get used to new ideas and concepts. Eventually, the new is accepted and a change in behavior then occurs that brings about the desired personally better life and a collectively better world.
DAY 83 – UNDERSTANDING THOUGHTS: THE FIRST STEP INTO MAKING ONE’S OWN LIFE BETTER AND MAKING THIS A BETTER WORLD
I now realize that the thoughts that flow through my mind lead to the behaviors that I engage in. How I treat my body, how I treat my fellow human beings and how I treat the earth begins with the type of thoughts that I have. Self-centered thoughts lead to selfish and uncooperative behaviors. Peaceful and harmonious thoughts become the cooperative spirit that makes this a better world. Thoughts are the underpinnings for what follows.
DAY 84 – THE MOST IMPORTANT QUESTIONS AND STATEMENTS FOR SELF UNDERSTANDING: IT BEGINS WITH WHICH, WHY, WHAT, HOW AND DO NOT
I now realize that certain questions and statements can be the awakening that leads me onto a path that not only enhances my life but also makes me a better human being.
DAY 85 – REMOVING USELESS AND DETRIMENTAL THOUGHTS AND BEHAVIORS
I now realize that I can replace my old ways of thinking and behaving that have a detrimental effect upon my life with new ways of thinking and behaving that have a beneficial effect upon my life. I can also replace any annoyances, anger and fears that I have by focusing my attention upon the people who mean the most to me along with the things that I enjoy doing. By being mindful of how I am thinking, behaving and what is meaningful to me I can better deal with whatever comes my way.
DAY 86 – FORM SMALL GROUPS TO UPLIFT ONE ANOTHER AND MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN YOUR COMMUNITY
I now realize that being part of a small group can enable each person to acquire more knowledge about life along with helping one another to deal with personal issues. In addition, members of a small group can be a force for good that effectively contributes their time and energy that makes a real difference in the lives of their fellow neighbors.
DAY 87 – A WORLD FILLED WITH MESSENGEYRS/ACTIVISTS
I now realize that on a local scale every community needs people who send out a message of hope, inspiration and insight. It then becomes incumbent upon their fellow community members to take this knowledge and become actively engaged for the greater whole that changes the world for the better.
DAY 88 – PRIORITIZING ISSUES
I now realize that I have to prioritize my time towards certain issues whether they are smaller or larger in scope so I can make a huge difference in the lives of other people and in how the earth functions.
DAY 89 – USING WHAT WORKS
I now realize that tapping into human ingenuity around the planet can give me the methods by which others have successfully dealt with similar problems. Using what has worked elsewhere and adapting it to my personal difficulties and to my community’s problems may be easier and more beneficial than trying something that may or may not be successful.
DAY 90 – MAXIMIZING OUR EFFORTS (TIME GOES BY NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO)
I now realize that time is a precious resource that should not be wasted. Moments in everyone’s life go by irrespective of what I or anyone else does and by setting aside time to raise my consciousness and to engage in endeavors that are both beneficial for myself and humanity, I will be effectively using this resource called time.
DAY 91 – THE INTERCONNECTED MODERN WORLD CAN CHANGE THE WORLD – NEW AND BETTER WAYS OF LIVING LIFE CAN BE PASSED ON QUICKLY
I now realize that we do not have to wait for and rely upon someone else to be proactive and the catalyst for solving human difficulties. The internet has the potential to give us insights into the why’s of our problems and the how to’s that remedy our ills along with the forum where large segments of society come together for one another’s benefit. Humanity has always wanted something that goes beyond the now and today’s transformative ideas and methodologies can be passed on more quickly and the call to action can be heard everywhere.
PART 6 – THE FUTURE
DAY 92 -MANAGING THE HUMAN HOUSEHOLD
I now realize that we can relish in the fact that we are part of something bigger than oneself while not losing sight of one’s own importance as a human being. Acting simultaneously on behalf of oneself and on behalf of our fellow human beings may seem unlikely but when it is achieved we will be managing the human household where human difficulties are minuscule and where everyone thrives in every way possible.
DAY 93 – A SOLID FOUNDATION THAT WITHSTANDS THE TEST OF TIME: STANDING AS ONE; WE ARE ALL TIED TOGETHER
I now realize that the better world of tomorrow will have a solid foundation upon which everything else is built upon. At the base of this solid foundation will be humanity as a whole standing together as one knowing that we are all tied together in a united benevolent effort to create a better life for everyone no matter what nation they are born into, no matter what religious beliefs they hold, no matter what race they belong to, no matter what ethnic heritage they are part of and no matter what sexual orientation they have.
DAY 94 – REACHING THE MOUNTAIN TOP: A HOLISTIC HARMONY BY THE YEAR 2100 (THE TOMORROWS WILL NOT BE LIKE THE YESTERDAYS)
When we reach the mountaintop for a collectively better world all of humanity will realize that the reason that we have arrived there is because of the time and effort that billions of our fellow human beings have devoted to creating such a world.
